About the Farm
Four acres in Drummond, KwaZulu-Natal. Everything we sell starts here.
Hayshack Farm is a working smallholding in the Drummond valley, about half an hour inland from Durban. The property carries 160 Beaumont macadamia trees, five beehives and a young orchard project, and everything we sell is grown, harvested and packed on the farm itself.
Our honey
Our five hives are managed with a local beekeeper. The honey is raw and unfiltered, straight from the comb to the jar. Because the bees forage on whatever is flowering in the valley, each harvest tastes slightly different, that is the point.
Our macadamias
The 160 Beaumont trees are productive and harvested seasonally. We crack the nuts ourselves on the farm, which means the kernels you buy have not sat in a warehouse for months. We sell them raw, in 250g and 500g packs.
Our water
Water is the newest part of the farm. Our borehole and bottling plans are underway, and spring water will join the shop as soon as it is ready. Watch this space.
Why buy direct
When you buy from Hayshack Farm you buy from the people who grew the food. No repackers, no long supply chains, no mystery about where your honey came from. If you are ever out Drummond way, get in touch.
